3 new features of Mobile Google Calendar

Google’s new calendar app, productivity can be beautiful.

You will see quite a few changes coming from Google in the next few weeks.  Along with Lollipop, Androids new OS and Google Inbox, which will help you better sort incoming emails, will be the new Google Calendar.  The new Google Calendar has three main features: events, assists and schedule view.

Google Travel

Add events automatically:  When you receive an email from a flight, hotel reservation, concert or dinner reservations made on Open Table, it will be automatically added to your calendar with the ability to edit.  This means no more cutting and pasting between your email and calendar.  Applications like Tripit do this now so this will definitely impact those apps.

.

Assist:  This feature will suggest places with addresses.  This is similar to the current web version of Google Calendar.  It is great to use with Google Now so it reminds you when to leave for your next appointment by comparing traffic on Google Maps to your current location and destination.  Google assists

Google Calendar ScheduleSchedule View:  This will display photos and maps of places you are going.  According the Google Blog “this will add beauty to your day”.

The new Google Calendar will work on all Android 4.1+ devices downloaded from Google Play or is available today on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
